As one of the few humans stranded on the ice planet, I should be happy that I have a new home. Human women are treasured here, and one alien in particular has made it clear that he wants me. It’s hard to push away the sexy, flirtatious Aehako, when all I want to do is grab him by his horns and insist he take me to his furs.
But I’ve got a terrible secret – the aliens who abducted me are back, and thanks to the translator in my ear, they can find me. My presence here endangers everyone… but can I give up my new life and the man I want more than anything?

Barbarian Lover is the third book in the Ice Planet Barbarians series by Ruby Dixon. While some readers firmly believe this is a standalone character series, I strongly suggest reading them in order to get the full experience. You may find some plot points confusing if you choose to skip books or read out of order.
This book follows one of my favorite couples Kira and Aehako.

Kira has a secret that is weighing her down. When the women were abducted, the basketball-headed bad aliens planted a translator in her ear so that she could communicate what they said to the other women. Now she believes her translator is leading the bad guys back to Not-Hoth so that they can finally retrieve their special cargo. Her only hope is that the elder cave, a partially working spaceship, can remove it in the medical bay.
Aehako can tell that there is something Kira is hiding. It makes her even more intriguing to him. He can tell that she feels their chemistry and attraction, but there is something keeping her from giving into him. When she asks to go to the elder cave, he immediately volunteers to accompany her. He is hopeful that their time alone with help her see what a wonderful mate he can be to her.
tropes include:
- Virgin heroine
- Fighting Attraction
- Fated Mates
I know I said that Kira and Aehako are one of my favorite couples, BUT Barbarian Lover is one of my favorite books in IPB. This book is the first in the series to actually have plot outside of resonance and fighting off single blue aliens. Kira’s character really shocked me; she’s a legit badass. Everything that she did to help the tribe was fantastic. And Aehako was the cherry on top. He is the best mix of a cinnamon bun and alpha hero ever.
